Basically when something goes viral it spreads quickly and reach alot of people. Video clips and funny pics can spread like wildfire.

When Google™ started out, not alot of people heard of them in the 1990s. There were lots of other search engines or meta crawlers, but was slow and didn't give proper results what people were searching for.

Rememebr in the 90s the internet was dial up connections and not as fast as it is today. What made Google™ stand out from the rest was that it was not a portal, but just a white page with a search box and a couple of links.

Not only did it load faster on dial up connections, but their search results also gave better results.

As a result of this people that used it started to like the good results and quick loading times, so they started to spread the word fameily, friends and colleagues. To make a long story short Google™ popularity grew and the rest is history.

Use Viral Marketing On Your Website

Create e.g. a video clip, something funny, funny images etc. and if people like it, they will pass it on to others. Facebook and Youtube are also very good ways to promote yourself and ideas.

If it is good then chances are that it can go viral and you might get increased website traffic.
